Forms Designer 7.4 Beta Release Notes

Overview

Our release notes offer brief descriptions of the bug fixes included in the 7.4.x Beta release of our Forms Designer. The version number shown is now shown in the File Menu > Options Window > General Tab. The current Beta version is 7.0.25.

Product Enhancements

Update the the Open Full Screen Canvas Setting to Be Enabled by Default for Pen Regions in Forms Designer (SB-3355)

Updated the "Open a full screen canvas for drawing Setting to be enabled by default when creating new Pen Regions or switching the Region Type of an existing Region to a Pen Region in Forms Designer.

Create New Windows-Based Application Installers using the WiX Toolset (SB-3426)

Created new Application Installers using the WiX Toolset for Forms Designer, the DIM, the DUU, and the EDM. One major change to the installation wizard is that there is now an Options button on the initial screen that allows you to configure the Installation Folder Location. 

Update Forms Designer to Use New and Updated Endpoints for Previewing and Publishing Forms and Add Support for Browser Authentication with Single Sign-On (SSO)  (SB-3480)

Updated Forms Designer to now use a new REST API Endpoints (replacing the ResourceWebService) for Form Publishing and changed Preview Mode and Form Publishing to use browser authentication to support the new Single Sign-On (SSO) login in addition to the standard login method.

Update Forms Designer to Use OAuth Refresh Tokens when Publishing after the Initial Authentication (SB-3495)

Updated Forms Designer to use an OAuth Refresh Token to preserve the logged in User's authentication that used Single Sign-On (SSO) when publishing Form Templates to the server.

Change the Default Server Config Settings for the Production Cloud in Forms Designer (SB-3526)

Fixed the default Server configuration to point to the Production Cloud in Forms Designer.

Update Forms Designer to Use a New Endpoint for Unique IDs when Testing Forms in Preview Mode (SB-3528)

Updated Forms Designer to use the new Unique ID Endpoint that was implemented in SB-3527 when Forms are tested in Preview Mode.

Update the Button Payment Processing UI for the Propelr Integration in Forms Designer (SB-3588)

Updated the Payment Processing UI to use the new Propelr Payment Engine Integration's available inputs and outputs when selecting the Process a Payment Transaction Action when designing Buttons in Forms Designer.

Add the Process A Payment Transaction Option Back in the List of Button Actions in Forms Designer (SB-3589)

Made the "Process a Payment Transaction" option in Button Properties to be visible in all builds of Forms Designer.

Add the Ability to Set Button Dimensions and Position in Forms Designer (SB-3592)

Updated Forms Designer with the ability to directly set exact X and Y coordinate values for Button position and exact Height and Width values to determine the Button size on the Form Page.

Remove the Order ID and Tax Inputs in the UI for Propelr Payment Transactions in Forms Designer (SB-3626)

Removed the Order ID input field (and the associated Details section) and the Tax Input field when Propelr is the Payment Processor in the Button Payment Processing pop-up window in Forms Designer.

Add the Ability to Get a Page Object by Page Name in Scripting in Forms Designer (SB-3632)

Added a new FormgetPageByPageName(string) call to the Scripting Engine that returns a Page object for use in Forms Designer and Preview Mode.
