Editing a Form ID

Editing a Form ID

Overview

The Form Template ID is the globally unique ID that Field2Base uses to identify a specific Form Template. It is used to apply versioning, Workflows, E-mail Templates and Folders to a Form. You may want to edit the Form ID in some cases. For example, if you have a live version of a Form and you want to make updates to that Form but want to test it before making it live.
You can save the Form with a new Form Template ID and publish that TEST version in a Testing Folder that only a selected group of testers can access. The article on Cloning a Form describes steps for creating a new Form from an existing Form.
Once you have finished the updates to the Test version of the Form and are ready publish the updates to the live Form, you can edit the Form ID of the test Form with the ID of the live Form.
