Overview
This article provides the information necessary to migrate the Field2Base Data Upload Utility (DUU) between machines.
Please refer to the
DUU Install Guide for the initial installation of the DUU on the new machine.
Copying Files From the Old DUU Install
These files have all of your configuration information in them and copying them to the new DUU is imperative to have it run as before.
1. Go the the folder where your old DUU is located. Typical location:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\F2B Data Upload
2. Transfer the following files/folders over a network or by utilizing an external drive:
- uploads.xml - This file tells the DUU which folder to watch for incoming uploads
- Log.sdf - This file is essentially the database the DUU uses for logging purposes
- F2BDataUploadService.exe.config - Contains additional customs configurations
Overwriting/Replacing Files on the New Computer
1. Open the folder where new DUU is installed.
- Typical location: C:\Program Files (x86)\F2B Data Upload
2. Select the files from the networked or external drive and copy them to the new location.
3. Select the option to Replace the files in the destination.
The next step makes sure that the DUU knows where to look for new Data Files you want uploaded to your Company ID. To change your Incoming File Location, do the following:
1. Open the DUU's Program Files location, usually C:\Program Files (x86)\F2B Data Upload.
2. Open the upload.xml file in your text editor of choice.
3. Change the "upload incoming" line to a file location of your choosing on the host machine.
4. Change the "archive" line to a file location you wish for a record of all files you've uploaded via the DUU to be stored.

You must stop service on the old DUU before starting it on the new DUU. Thus, go back to the computer with the old DUU, and open the DUU Administrator.
1. Select Service on the top menu bar
2. Click the Stop button.
Start the New DUU Service
